- This risks confusing the issue by introducing a fifth dimension (of time).
"At once" implies "at one time", but the four-dimensional
space-time perspective is not limited to "one time". In order for
"at once" to be meaningful in this new context, it must mean at one
time along some temporal dimension. Since we are already looking at all the time
coordinates, that one time must be along another dimension of time, a fifth
dimension. Since we are not accustomed to adopting the four-dimensional
space-time perspective, we must be especially on guard to prevent the intrusion
of language not consistent with that perspective. text
