Winnifred Ruth LaFoe Kenyon, 88, passed away peacefully and comfortably on April 16 at her home of 67 years in
Chester MA. At her side were her children, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, in-laws, friends and loved ones.
"Winnie", "Freddie" or just "Ma" as she was known by friends and family, was born May 11, 1922, in Wilbraham MA.,
daughter of Dorothy Ruth LaFoe nee Weeks and Albert Amos LaFoe. She was a graduate of Gamaliel-Bradford Senior High
School, Wellesley, MA. She is survived by her remaining children, Ralph Edward Kenyon Jr. and his wife Yelena Levina of
Williamstown, Sherry Lynn Henry, Rosanne Elaine McClaflin and her husband Heath, all of Chester, 13 grandchildren, and
many great and great great grandchildren. She leaves also her brother Norman LaFoe of Northampton MA and sisters Leona
Laro and Gloria Gilbert both of Florida. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph Edward Kenyon Sr. of Chester MA and
her sons Bruce Albert Kenyon of Wayland NY and Michael Charles Kenyon of Chester.
Winnifred loved to cook; her baking skills brought warm smiles to the many, many people with whom she would share
her breads, cookies, and pastries. She loved to knit, read, and garden, spending countless hours in her gardens, it was
where she was happiest - peacefully tending to her flowers with love and devotion, much as she tended to her family.
A celebration of her life for friends and well-wishers was held Saturday, May 7th at the Chester Railway Museum
from 1-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Special Olympics Massachusetts, Attn: Donations, Yawkey Sports Training Center, 512 Forest Street, Marlborough, MA 01752, The Shriners Hospital For Children, 516 Carew
