Charles Kenyon Charles Kenyon. 96. of 37 Melville St., Springfield. formerly of Pittsfield, died Saturday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield after a long illness.
Born in Montreal, Canada, Feb. 5. 1890, the son of Charles and Jeannie Potters Kenyon, he spent his early rears in St. Albans, Vt.
Mr. Kenyon retired from the Boston & Albany Railroad in 1955 after, 49 yrs of service. He first went to work for the railroad at age 15. For 28 1/2 years he was a foreman. He was presented the 50 year Silver Medal Service 1919 to 1969.
He lived on Dutchess Avenue in Pittsfield from 1960 to 1980 and had been a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. He also was a member of the Mount Orthodox Lodge of Masons in West Springfield, and a member and past patron of Liberty Chapter 159, Order of the Eastern Star, in Chester. He was alsuo "50 year" Past Master of Masons.
Mr. Kenyon's wife, the former. Pearl E. Provost, died in 1973. He leaves three sons, Charles Kenyon Jr. of El Cajon, Calif., Ralph. Kenyon of Chester and Gordon A. Kenyon of Schenectady, N.Y.; two Daughters, Mrs. Dorothy M. Dyer of Springfield and Mrs. Janet E. MacKelvie of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 23 grandchildren, and 28 great-grand-children.. The funeral will be tomorrow Morning at 11 at the Dickinson Streeter Funeral Home in Springfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
